About

I enjoy programming, cycling, travelling, dogs, and conferences.

Standing invitation

If you want to talk research or software, I want to talk to you. My email addresses & social media handles can be found here. Email is much preferred. Unless it’s urgent, avoid calling me (I prefer async communication).

Can confirm Lars doesn't bite.

Cookies and stuff

This page does not store cookies. If you find one, it’s a bug, and I’d appreciate if you’d let me know.

To show my talk recordings, I rely on third-party embeds from YouTube and Vimeo. To prevent non-consensual tracking as far as possible, these iframes are “hidden” behind a button. If you want to see the video, click on the button and your browser will load the iframe. Note that I’ve used the non-tracking embed codes, yet YouTube and/or Vimeo may still track you; this is beyond my control. My website doesn’t remember whether you’ve clicked the button or not, which means that you’ll have to click it again every time you encounter one (or not, if you’re not interested in the video). This also saves a lot of bandwith, since the third-party iframes pull in a lot of JavaScript.

Some recordings are hosted on the EU-based CDN Bunny. Read their GDPR policy here. According to their website, they do not collect, store or distribute personally-identifying information.

Also, I don’t use any kind of analytics. This page is hosted on Netlify (most content) and Bunny (some large static assets). While Netlify offers some analytics services, I don’t use them.

The hosting providers may or may not process logs on their servers; see for details:

I have signed Data Processing Agreements with all three providers. Note that I have disabled logging of IP addresses where possible.
